What Am I Up To Now?

This page is a simple snapshot of where my time, energy, and heart are focused right now.

It’s what I’d share if we sat down for tea and you asked, “So, what’s going on in your world these days?”

Inspired by the “now page” movement started by Derek Sivers, this space helps me stay connected to what matters most. It’s not a feed of updates or fleeting moments… it’s the bigger picture of what I’m learning, creating, exploring, and prioritising in this season of life.

Where am I living?

After 19 years in Hong Kong, Nick and I have settled into the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We made the move in late 2023 / early 2024 and now live in Vancouver, Washington – not Canada. We’re just across the river from Portland, Oregon, and about a three-hour drive from Seattle, Washington.

What am I learning?

I’m currently knee-deep in learning all things AI. I’m excited about how it can be used to create efficiency and clarity, especially when applied thoughtfully in business; enhancing the way teams work without replacing the humans behind them.

What am I doing creatively?

Since relocating, I haven’t spent much time getting my hands dirty with mixed-media art. That said, I’ve now set up a dedicated creative space, and I’m looking forward to spending more time creating art throughout 2026.

What am I reading?

The Compound Effect: Jumpstart Your Income, Your Life, Your Success by Darren Hardy. I’m a member of the WEO book club, and we’re focused on business and personal development, where we read one book each month. This is our chosen read for the January 2026 meetup.

What am I exploring?

I’m exploring whether growing my own vegetables – and physically creating a native garden – is something I want to commit to. Gardening hasn’t come naturally to me. Summer 2025 was my second season: one plant produced an abundance of tiny tomatoes, and one chilli plant did well, but the rest didn’t yield much. The year before was even less successful, so it’s very much a work in progress.

Nick and I are also enjoying exploring the Pacific Northwest. When we can, we hop in the car and take road trips. We recently spent time in Astoria, Oregon for our 20th wedding anniversary. While my parents were visiting, we spent time driving along the Oregon coast and visiting some local tourist spots.

What fur babies do I have?

When we moved, I relocated five cats: Isis and Osiris (siblings from the same litter), and Mama, Sweetpea, and Bella (a mama and her daughters who were semi-wild garden cats I cared for over nine years). Sadly, six months after relocating, Isis passed away. Osiris is currently 17 years old, and the girls are around 10–11 years old.

A global citizen at heart, I was born and raised in Australia, spent 19 years in Hong Kong, and now call Vancouver, Washington home. I consider myself an “Expert-Generalist” - a term coined by Orit Gadiesh of Bain & Co to describe someone who gathers expertise across disciplines, industries, and cultures, and uses that diverse palette of knowledge to recognise patterns, connect ideas, and think deeply with clarity and intention.
